Description
We have had the great privilege of obtaining our first batch of Great Southern Mt Bodangora SRS Merino yarn from Aleashia Kircher, the new custodian of Great Southern Yarn. We have called it our Muster Fingering Base. We are thrilled with it!
SRS (Soft Rolling Skin) Merino sheep have the great advantage of being bare-breeched, meaning they do not have to be mulesed to protect them from flystrike. The fleece from these Mt Bodangora sheep are sent to New Zealand to be scoured and then spun by Design Spun Mills in Napier. The beautiful 4ply construction is perfectly twisted to create a glossy, even and velvet smooth yarn with a world class hand that takes dye beautifully. A win win for us!
In order to test out this new Muster base, we have wound approx 50g skeins and dyed a graduating palette inspired by the gemstone Alexandrite. We hope you love these sample packs as much as we do! We hope to be able to carry this base on a regular basis, so keep your fingers crossed!
340m / 373 yards per 100g. Each skein is approx 50g. You will recieve 5 skeins; 250g in total.
This yarn is non superwash and must be hand washed only and gently dried flat.
