Description

This Sock Set is the fourth instalment in our “Great Women in Herstory” range where we will be inspired by both infamous and legendary women throughout time.

Amelia Earhart was the first female pilot to famously complete a non stop transatlantic flight in 1932, which followed her world altitude record of 18415 feet (5600M) in 1931. She wrote many articles and books on aviation and promoted its growing acceptance and the inclusion of women in the field. Amelia went missing on one of the final stages of her 1937 attempt to circumnavigate the globe, having left Lae in PNG heading to Howland Island but tragically never arrived.
