I acquired these demitasse cups and saucers, perfect size for a shot of espresso coffee or machiato, from a friend who was given them from an elderly relative. She was endlessly worried about them living in a shoebox in the cupbaord and not being loved, so they’ve come to me for you!

Each cup and matching saucer is produced in England by the James Kent factory in the early 1930s. The pretty designs feature Art Deco poppies and nasturtiums with a slight chinoiserie feel. I am reading the Maisie Dobbs series by Jaqueline Winspear and as soon as I saw these I thought Maisie would have used and loved them! Still so beautiful and perfect for knitters!
